This sign looks a bit old fashioned, not sure if a hat like this is still worn in downtown Siem Reap.
These two are a bit more to the point I think.
I went to a couple more temples at the weekend. One was called Baksei Chamrong which was too steep to climb as the steps (made of a lava-like stone called laterite) were very narrow and eroded,
The woman at the front of my picture had cycled to the temple and was sitting enjoying the quiet early morning with birds singing and little other noise.
Phnom Bakhery is quite close and where people take an elephant to the top of the temple to see the sunset. It's £20 up and £15 down but when I went not only were there no elephants but only local people as visitors tend to see Angkor Wat in the morning for the light.
The ladies are weeding round the temples and, in their bright green T shirts and pink scarves are a regular sight cleaning round this area. One had her baby asleep in a hammock under the trees and took it to explore when it woke.
This is the sign in front of the Hindu temple complex entrance.
And a temple lion
The countryside from the top of the hill
This might be my last temple post (did you notice that I slipped it in under the title of "signs") as I am away in Phomn Penh for a long weekend and my 7 day pass will have expired by the time I get back. I have really enjoyed exploring this area - it's just so amazing!
